O' look more death and dying

Well, this morning Fern found one of the Shelly Mamma Wyandottes dead in the chicken yard. This will mark the first predatory chicken death at our little farm.

The yard was full of feathers and back in the corner was what was left of the Shelly Mamma. The predator took her head and attacked the chest cavity. All in all it was a pretty clean crime scene. T was really interested in the few parts that were laying around. Yack! But, hey! It was our science lesson for the day.

It is a melancholy morning.

About This Blog

Herein I am compiling a journal of my trials, tribulations and hopefully, triumphs as I try my hand at Hobby Farming and Sustainability.

At Little Farm the ground is hard pack clay on bedrock, surrounded by a wooded 1.75 acres. Not quite ideal growing conditions, for plants or animals.

Join me as I try to make things grow and thrive. Join me on my journey toward Sustainability.
